Florida Renewable Energy Producers Want Resource Map

Tallahassee, March 16, 2007 -- The Florida Renewable Energy Producers Association (FREPA) is asking the legislature for $400,000 for a “Renewable Energy Resource Map.”

FREPA argues that while the incentives and policy initiatives are a good start, they fall short for investor purposes. "Incentives make more sense for investors, potential producers and those evaluating the feasibility of a project when we know for sure what our state renewable resources are and what is our resource capacity as a state," says Michael Dobson, the association's president.

The appropriation request is sponsored by State Senator Al Lawson and State Representative Curtis Richardson.
